Hiking, Biking, & Nature Trails There are many of these in the area. The trail entrance pictured at left is located at Crystal Point in The Presque Isle Harbor Area. This walk is about 1/4 mile and ends on the shore of Lake Huron. One of the first things you'll notice is the smell of cedar trees. If you stop about the halfway point, you'll hear the sounds of the forest, and if there is a breeze, the waves coming to shore. Always wear shoes you don't mind getting we at you'll probably want to walk the shore line or take a dip. There are trails at the lighthouses also. There is also a paved non-motorized trail running about 9 miles from the eastern shoreline in Rogers City, past Hoeft State Park, to the Forty Mile Point Lighthouse. |

A Place Called Rockport Many years ago this pier served as a limestone loading dock . It is protected from winds by a small point of land to the east. It is a great place to picnic. There are a few grills and tables for public use. (You may want to fish off the pier as I did years ago). |
